| Although she was only part of life for four months, Artemis was a glowing, friendly, bubbly, purring machine of a kitty who was a wonderful addition to our home. While she never bonded with our 15 year old boy, Boo, (not for lack of trying on his part), she much preferred the lap or chest of Daddy, or curling up on Mommy's leg on the couch. Artemis came to us from a pet rescue we encountered at the pet store. We saw this older cat amongst all the kittens being offered. She immediately connected with Patrick...to the point that we were almost home when he told me to turn around and go back to the store because we couldn't leave her there in a cage. We were told she was 8 years old, but due to her health decline, we're convinced that her "origin story" might have been a bit dramatized to take pity on an older cat in need of a home. And, if that's the case, no matter, we treasured her crazy little meow and her chocolate chip belly stretches. We truly did change the fate of THIS Ophelia. She passed peacefully and quietly in her daddy's arms. We should all hope for such peace. Thanks to all of our friends and family who reached out wanting to help out. Your love and support mean the world to us. Artemis said to tell you all, "Rawh, raaaaaarwh." Thank you, Universe, for bringing this precious little bundle to us, even for a brief time. Run free with the butterflied over the rainbow bridge, little Arty Mouse. Until we meet again.... |
