Howl Kontes

Howl first came into my life when I decided to go to the adoption clinic for a different cat entirely. Someone had JUST taken the cat I had originally intended to adopt, so I decided I'd sit with each cat and see if any of the others and I would hit it off.

After making the rounds, I came to the kennel that had Howl and his younger brother Nugget. They both immediately took to me. Howl was rubbing against me and sitting in my lap. Nugget was jumping on my shoulders. They captured my heart as well. Before we knew it, we were back in "our" home together. And the two of them made their territory and favorite places known (while fighting with each other over them).

Howl had many routines, activities, and behaviors that made him the unique bundle of fur that he was. My favorite of these is that (to my initial bewilderment and amazement) he would sleep in bed with me underneath the blanket every night we were together.

I could go on and on about Howl, but I'd never be able to fully capture what made him the special cat that he was. I just want to say THANK YOU HOWL for giving me and Nugget all the love you did and letting us love you as much as we were able. The time we shared with you couldn't have been spent better, and it will always be cherished.

Nugget and I will never forget you, Howl. You'll always be in our hearts.
